Our Church and Our Calling to Serve the Lord

The Church at New York City is a close-knit community that is dedicated to carrying out God’s teachings by being involved in different missionary works and services.

Our Core

As children of God, we aim to empower our brothers and sisters while remaining true to our words and actions. We value integrity in all that we do and we hope to inspire others to do the same.

Our Mission

As the prophets have taught us about the true Church and how it is missionary-minded, our goal is to follow the path that God has given us. We aim to participate in the missionary works for we believe that He has blessed us with this burden and it is a privilege for us to carry it on.

Our Story

The baptism of two of our members in Lorain, Ohio, marked the beginning of our fellowship. We were then invited by Manuel and Ligia Leandro to share our experiences with other Christians. This created an opportunity for our current pastor, Rev. Evon, to visit New York City and introduce the Message of the Hour.

We were able to testify and baptize four more believers in the name of Jesus Christ during our first trip in August of 1990. In the succeeding months, our fellowship was able to baptize and welcome more members to our Church.

The small group of believers that joined us were excommunicated from their denominational churches. Eventually, they invited Rev. Charles Sias to lead them which caused him to move to New York City in November of 1990. Prior to this, he was a missionary in India from 1974 to 1986. Bro. Sias continued to pastor our growing flock until his death in March of 1993.

Upon the death of Bro. Sias, Rev. Evon Carrion continued to visit the assembly as he was inspired to continue the Bible-based missionary work. He moved to NJ with his family to lead our Church after 5 years of trials. Pastor Carrion has now been our leader for more than 24 years and our fellowship has continued to grow in faith and numbers with the grace of God.
